Do you love your job?

Love your jobIs it just me or do most people not like their jobs? I think a high majority would prefer to do something else. My conclusion is based on incessant complaints from acquaintances, friends and the web stats of my web sites during business hours. It came as no surprise when I read a recent study stating people who work when they don’t have to… really like what they do.

Nearly 90 percent of the US workforce loves their jobs — especially those who still work after the age of 65, a study published Monday by the University of Chicago showed.

“Job satisfaction is especially high among those 65 and over because most people working at that age are not forced to still work, due to financial reasons, but choose to do so because they like their jobs,” Tom Smith, who led the study, said in a statement.

I do have hope most anyone can find a role that both fits their needs and helps the employer. If you love watching movies or baking cupcakes, can you make six figures doing this full-time? Maybe not today, but with a good career plan you’ll start focusing more on doing things you love and less about what you earn. So what do you think… do you love your job?
