Shawn Morton and I are hosting a tweetup here in Louisville for area folks this Thursday. Our agenda is simple, there are great people locally who obviously love Twitter and other new media tools and we think we should get together!
We know there are lots of fun meetups, so we asked our friends at […]
One of our best Daily Idea show yet! We found a new formula for creating good web content. Turn on camera, ask strangers questions about their families during the holidays… let the magic happen.
If you even halfway read this blog, you’ll know I’m a big fan of web video. I’ve co-founded two video groups (Almost Mediocre and Daily Idea). So, when Abby (also from KY) asked Rob May, Jason Falls and I to chat on camera for WebProNews we were happy to oblige.
Congratulations to the Wallstrip team for reaching its 1-year anniversary! As a web video enthusiast and producer of a two-month old, growing web show… I applaud not only their success, but their consistent, quality work. Happy Birthday and many more!

Last week, I posted about my LA-based partners in Almost Mediocre (AM). They were my first taste of creating an audience around more than text and pics. Our videos may not be your preferred taste in humor, but we found an audience (actually, a really great one). We have sold our […]
Dan Scudder, a Boston native and founder of DormItem.com spent his summer with a valley startup, Rapleaf.com. This is part two of our chat during my Bay Area Visit. We sit down to discuss how an entrepreneur outside the valley feels once he’s immersed in the startup epicenter.
Facebook isn’t the only site garnering attention from college kids. Dan Scudder founded DormItem.com, a site that aggregates items for sale by college kids. He has a couple revenue models and is currently a student at Babson College. This is the first of four video clips from my interview with Dan. If you’re […]
If you don’t know Robin Wolaner by name, you know her great work. Her career includes founding Parenting magazine along with launching Martha Stewart Living and Vibe magazines. She is also the author of a great book you NEED to buy called “Naked In the Boardroom.”
The point I’m making is she’s a player, she’s […]
If you remember nothing else, ponder these three gems.
1- Building a business is more about people than money.
2- The basic principles of business apply offline and on.
3- A simple mind is easily amazed.
