I am again teaching our Global MBA Seminar in Leadership in June. These students study in Louisville for their first summer (three courses), return to their home country for the academic year (six courses) and return the second summer to complete the last three courses for their MBA degree.

The 2012 class will have 17 German students, 3 Russian students and 6 local UofL students. Class meets every weekday from June 14 through June 20. For the first hour of each half-day module, I invite a leader guest meet with the students. No preparation is required. Each guest is asked to talk for no more than 10 minutes on what they believe MBA graduates need to know about leadership in today's environment. Then, the students set the agenda with their questions and comments. Previous guests have loved the interaction and discussion of this very diverse group. A copy of the syllabus is attached to this invitation.

I would like you to be our leader guest on Friday, June 14 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Parking is available adjacent to the College of Business and the seminar meets in Room 205. I guarantee that you will be out the door at 2:00 so that you can continue with your regular routine. Your real word perspectives will be important to the student's understanding of leadership. We hope that you will participate!

If this is possible for you, please reply with a copy of your picture and bio. We will also publish your organization's Web URL to ensure the students are prepared for your visit. Thank you so much for your consideration.

Congratulations on your success with Try It Local. My advice based on experience with Groupon, Livins Social, etc. is to manage the expectations. I've seen businesses just crushed by too many responses and not enough capacity. I see that as being managed better, but now I am getting the "second hand" treatment at many participating locations and that is a HUGE turn off. I'm a hybrid - looking for a good deal, but also something new and better. Seems that many of the businesses are fatigued from the "getting a good deal" types. Good opportunity to differentiate your brand on both sides. Good luck!

Michelle from Consuming Louisville suggested I contact you. My name is Haven Harrington and I'm working with the Tyler Allen for Mayor campaign. On Tuesday, December 15th, 8:30AM we are having a Blogger Breakfast at our campaign headquarters. Our headquarters is located at 2074 Preston Street, right next door to Zanzibar.

This would be a great time for you to not only meet Tyler and hear about his vision for Louisville, but to also ask him any questions that you may have. We want you to be a part of the conversation. If you are unable to attend the entire event will be streamed live on Ustream.tv, and the name of show is Tyler Allen for Mayor. You can also e-mail me any questions that you may have and I will pass them along.

Please e-mail me back and let me know if you can or can not attend.

Thanks in advance,
