To most web folks, It’s no secret there are those that really don’t like him and yet others worship his every… tweet. I’ve always been quite ambivalent about him personally, but after listening to his new podcast, This Week in Startups I have to admit I kinda like the guy. Sure, he’s self-promoting (not a terrible thing in his business), but if you listen to his content, he does know the startup life.

His podcast includes an entrepreneur guest, call in questions, live conversation tracking with the hashtag #twist and weekly news roundup. I particularly enjoy the phone call questions and stories from guest entrepreneurs. I do love video podcasts, but I actually listen to this one as it averages well over an hour per episode. If Jason could drop the news and cut it down to 30 minutes, I’d be a more avid fan. If you haven’t been watching/listening, check out the video below.

Her career includes founding Parenting magazine along with launching Martha Stewart Living and Vibe magazines. She is also the author of a great book you NEED to buy called “Naked In the Boardroom.”

The point I’m making is she’s a player, she’s tried it, done it (successfully) and is going at again with a very, cool startup called TBD.com. Today, they just announced their funding round by a list of rockstar investors. But this story isn’t about the money, it’s about a proven leader who is building a business to help her generation. I sat down with Robin during my Bay Area Visit and while the persona in the book was intimidating, she and her team were a joy to meet. Watch this interview and you’ll see why.
