If you don’t know Robin Wolaner by name, you know her great work. Her career includes founding Parenting magazine along with launching Martha Stewart Living and Vibe magazines. She is also the author of a great book you NEED to buy called “Naked In the Boardroom.”

The point I’m making is she’s a player, she’s tried it, done it (successfully) and is going at again with a very, cool startup called TBD.com. Today, they just announced their funding round by a list of rockstar investors. But this story isn’t about the money, it’s about a proven leader who is building a business to help her generation. I sat down with Robin during my Bay Area Visit and while the persona in the book was intimidating, she and her team were a joy to meet. Watch this interview and you’ll see why.

Learn From Your Girlfriend

#2 – They Are Always Right – Customers may not always be right, but they should walk away from (almost) any situation satisfied.

#5 – Deliver Your Promises – The key to your future success it taking care of today’s business. Track records are hard to escape.

#9 – Their Friends Are Your Friends – Whether it’s a prospect or long-time client, don’t be afraid to ask for leads. Most people want to be seen as a resource to others and if you take care of #5, then referrals will come.
